The Transylvania University baseball team outlasted the Franklin College Grizzlies in a back-and-forth affair in the opening game of their Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference weekend series. The Pioneers scored single runs in the third, fourth and eighth innings before posting two runs in the ninth to seal the win.

The Spalding University baseball team won their second straight conference game, edging out Principia College, 6-4. The win brings the Golden Eagles overall record to 10-7, with a 2-2 mark in the SLIAC. The loss drops the Panthers to 4-10 overall and a 0-1 mark in conference play. Kyle Olliges (1-1) earned the win, whileKorie Vire (4) picked up the save. Sawyer Grow (2-2) was tagged with the loss.

With the score tied 3-3 in the bottom of the 10th inning, Austin Atwell delivered a walk-off single up the middle to score Alec Salcedo from second and hand the Lindsey Wilson baseball team a 4-3 walk-off win over Cumberlands (Ky.) on Friday evening at Egnew Park.
The win puts the eighth-ranked Blue Raiders (23-10, 5-2 MSC) currently alone atop the Mid-South Conference standings in first place. Cumberlands falls to 20-11 overall with a 3-4 record in conference play with the loss.
