The Doss Dragons opened the top of the first with three runs on Saturday, but Kentucky Country Day would answer with a modest 22 run bottom half of the first. It was the beginning of a shortened game, but long day for Doss.
Michael C Wells reports:
The 2nd inning wasn't much better, as the Bearcats increased their lead to 34-3 before the Dragons were able to get three outs against them. The Dragons were on their 5th pitcher by the end of the 2nd inning. At the 30-3 mark, the KCD coaching staff was only allowing players to go to 1st base after recording a hit. Multiple doubles and triples were only recorded as singles as KCD did all they could to not run up the score any higher on Doss. The Bearcats ended the game on a 41-0 run. In a game that resembled a football blowout, KCD improved to 3-3 with a 41-3 win.
